Pupils' image of grim past

February 04, 2009
SCHOOLCHILDREN were turned into cholera victims from the past as part of a striking new history festival.
Pupils, from Abraham Moss High, in Crumpsall, were transformed by a local make-up artist, Wendie Williams.
The event was to celebrate the diverse history of the city and encourage people to learn about Manchester's past.
Mari Lowe, project officer for the Manchester Histories Festival, said it was one of several events to be held in local schools.
She said: "The festival will be held in March in the town hall and loads of organisations are involved from the universities to small societies."
